Half of a Yellow Sun
by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
I expected to like this, as I've liked everything else I've read from the author. I did not expect to be completely blown away. This was amazing--even better than Americanah. It was heartbreaking, involving, I loved the narrative structure, it fit the storyline perfectly--I don't have words to say enough good things. I loved the author before--I am in awe of her now. I was really interested after reading this book, so I ended up spending the afternoon researching the Biafran war. I knew it had happened, but did not know any details.
