Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
by Becky Albertalli
REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK. So much of this book reminded me of Perks of Being a Wallflower. I feel like this is a LGBT version of Perks and I'm here for it. I did expect a more swoon-worthy end. It wasn't badly written or a bad ending. Just kind of ended abruptly? The last chapter is great and then the parents come home from dinner and... that's it. The end.
I enjoyed all the characters. I enjoyed the way Simon wore his heart on his sleeve. I had fun with the small mystery of trying to figure out who Blue was. I can't think of anything that could have gone better (except my personal issue with everything go back to normal at the end --- maybe it ended like that because Simon's character said he didn't want a happy ending because he wanted no end but STILL).
Fans of Stephen Chomsky and Rainbow Rowell and any other endearing swoon, heart-on-your-sleeves YA you will like this book! I can't wait to read this again.
