Ian McKellen: The Biography by Garry O'Connor

1.0

I bought this book because of the cover. I was very disappointed. I’m queer, and I wanted to read about a gay actor and advocate who is in some of my favourite film franchises. But… O’Connor’s way of writing this biography made me angry.

The way he talks about homosexuality, about McKellen’s decisions. What this book exuded was boomer energy. I won’t be picking up any O’Connor books after this.

It took me a whole year to finish it… I almost didn’t finish reading it.
