This book was weird. The premise is awesome and it’s marketed as an adventurous thriller. I was hoping this would be by next favorite Sci-fi adventure but it almost wasn’t Sci-fi enough.
What I loved the most was the incorporation and inclusion of sea life. I learned so much about squid, jellyfish, and whales!
What I didn’t love was the whole emotional ride Jay experienced with the whale and his dad. Even the “responses” of his whale and his dad were off putting. I wanted to read more about his escape out of the whale.
Overall, a letdown and I was over the book by 65%. I just had to push through to finish.
