It is always tricky to wrap things up when you involve gods & their parents... Aside from maybe 2 pages involving the parents of gods, the tension of the series comes to a head during this book... And Daine's not even in the mortal realm to deal with it! Somehow, I stayed tense throughout, though.
Regardless, I love lore and really enjoyed Pierce's invented Realm of the Gods (and it's borders with dragons and chaos).
Pierce still addresses serious topics & always takes some beloved characters from us to remind us of the cost of fighting or chosing to fight of one's own free will.
One major frustration is the age gap... Pierce committed to it and the rest of this story's timeline in the first book... And it's the one thing that completely pulls me out of the story (ok, besides the Gods' parents).
