The Stolen Throne by David Gaider
3.0
The pacing was really weird, the characters felt very flat after the first 100 pages, and don’t even get me started on the walking “incompetent and flamboyant gay villain” stereotype that Meghren is. It was painful to get through any scene he was in.
I would’ve rated this lower but I did really enjoy the beginning of this book and the group dynamics of Maric, Loghain, and Rowan, and it was at least interesting to see how everything changes them into the characters we know (or hear of) in Origins.
Also, this further reinforced my desire to never make Alistair king in that game. He’s everything that Maric used to be and BETTER before Maric was forced to give up who he was as a person to be a ruler.
