The Lady of the Rivers by Philippa Gregory
3.0

I decided to read this book as a fun companion to my PhD (which is on Shakespeare’s first tetralogy). It was interesting to get a different fictionalised account, with a very different focus, but it wasn’t the best read. There were points where the novel was gripping and intriguing (despite obviously knowing what historically happened), but all in all it was repetitive and too long.

I’m going to carry on reading the series, as I have been told this is not the best, and I do love the story of the Wars of the Roses.
