✧ I was completely caught off guard by the depth of emotion in this book, exceeding my initial expectations. The way the Max Monroe duo skillfully blended romance, humor, and weightier themes throughout the story left me utterly impressed.
♡︎ The story revolves around Scottie and Finn, two college freshmen embarking on the journey of discovering independence and embracing college life. Initially, Finn believes that their contrasting backgrounds keep them apart, attempting to distance himself from Scottie. However, their connection proves to be undeniable, evident from the very first moment they cross paths with one of the best heartfelt meet-cutes I’ve read. Then, as fate would have it, Finn, the introvert, unexpectedly befriends Ace Kelly, who happens to be the most charismatic guy on campus. Through this newfound group of friends, Finn's world begins to expand, enabling him to truly be himself and let go of past resentment.
♡︎ The constant push and pull dynamic between Scottie and Finn had me glued to the screen for hours. Just as things seemed to be progressing positively, their lives became entangled in complications. Additionally, the inclusion of a found family here was just perfect. It had been quite some time since I encountered such an entertaining group of friends. And the appearance of beloved characters from previous series was the icing on the cake. As a whole, this story is simply exceptional in every way!
✧ If you enjoy college romance with a sprinkling of heartfelt angst, this book is an absolute must-read.
