It took me a long time to finish this book! I loved reading Jacqueline Wilson as a child, and my children do still love her, but I’m not convinced she makes the jump to adult novels very well. Parts of it sound very childish and young, other parts are fairly adult which results in quite a jarring read. Also, there are a lot of themes touched on, but none are followed through to a satisfying conclusion, which is a shame, as they are all relevant and part of adulthood. All in all, a bit disappointing.
