Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman

2.0

I liked the imagery and very much enjoyed wandering through Rome with the main characters, but this was not my cup of tea. Lots of disturbing scenes (the peach scene used a particularly insensitive metaphor) and it was hard to connect to Elio because he just didn't seem very authentic. He's extremely creepy and is quite unrealistic BIOLOGICALLY!
It's hard to believe he can physically have intercourse multiple times a day and seemingly enjoy the last one most.

I definitely wanted a sweeter relationship, and a deep authentic intimacy between these two as the blurb promised. I don't think I received it. I was mostly disturbed and wanted the book to end.
