This book was not needed. Like, at all. The first book was decent. The setting and the vibe of the first book were good. But the second book just ruined it. If the author just wanted to write another book about what the characters were doing after book 1, they could’ve done just that instead of wasting their time writing a sequel.
There were times where it felt like nothing was happening even though something was happening. It’s basically a ripoff of the first book just with different characters. However, the different characters have the same characteristics as the ones in the first book. And also the way sexual assault is kinda casually brushed aside.
(Nate getting kissed without his consent with the girl he loves right next to him but his only reaction is looking bemused.)
And the ending. Wow, that ending. When everything was revealed the book should’ve just ended there. But instead, McManus had to add more chapters to include some more wonky bs. The ending had to have been pulled out of her ass. This book was nothing special. Don’t really waste your time on it.
