The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

4.0

So I asked to borrow this book from a friend because she told me how much more organized and such she became after reading it, so I was hoping it'd do the same for me. Don't get me wrong, it did inspire to me to do a MAJOR closet clean-out, and the "Does it spark joy?" method definitely helped me let go of a ton of clothes. However, Marie Kondo's lifestyle is just that: a lifestyle. Unless you're as passionate as she was as a child for "tidying," this is an extremely tough practice to master.
I can see how many of her methods could change one's mindset, but I am in awe of the way Marie Kondo is able to maintain this lifestyle for years and how she convinces others to do the same.
Not going to lie, I definitely saw the extra room in my closet as an opportunity to fill it with a bunch of new clothes shortly after finishing the book...
I think one just has to be completely willing to transition to this particular "tidy" lifestyle and fully commit in order to successfully follow Marie Kondo's footsteps.
It was still interesting to read about how her methods have literally changed lives though!
