It took quite a while to get to the point of properly enjoying this book. It was confusing, the fmc was annoying, and there didn’t seem to be much plot.
I am glad I persisted, because it did get better. Sam could still stand growing up some, but there has been enough character development that I have high hopes for the next book.
I will say, the “everyone loves me and puts up with everything about me no matter what because I’m special” trope is not my favourite, and it appears a lot in this book. But it was bearable, and I was kind of able to ignore it.
