One of the most intense Hardy novels for me, there really isn’t much of heartbreak and actual love going around but the amount of disgrace and cluelessness of the characters was just astonishing. The book leads you into the most intricate and amazing scenarios filled with random and not so random encounters and situations and it takes you out for a spin, you keep reading wanting to know what terrible thing is going to happen next only to find yourself wanting to grab the characters by the shoulders and shake them. I felt happy, them sad, them happy again, and in the end, I just love it to bits.
