Aphrodite: A Memoir of the Senses by Isabel Allende
3.0
The first Allende that I've read. Entertaining read although the entertainment level dropped off as I went through the book. A look at aphrodisiacs over the centuries, including looks at meats, fish, herbs and spices, vegetables, fruits, wines and aromas that have served this purpose intentionally or not. Very anecdotal in its formula that made it very entertaining at times. Never quite carried its interest to the next level; I'm not sure why or how.
