Greatest book ever written without a doubt. My expectations were high because people were putting this book on a pedestal and Steinbeck delivered.
Good god! I feel like Steinbeck knows me, understands me and consoles me and he's never even met me. I absolutely loved the characters and their struggles with good and evil. A masterfully crafted plot encompassing one of the most talked about biblical story.
I want to say so much about how this book perfectly touches on every nooks and crannies of human condition and does it so well and thoughtfully.
East of Eden definitely deserves all the praise coming towards it.
