Our Stop by Laura Jane Williams
4.0

This book is was joyful, hopeful, and hilarious. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a light and funny read. One of my favorite parts about this book was the humor. The writing was so so funny and it made me so excited to read whatever else Laura Jane Williams puts out. I also loved how true to life it was. Though it is a dreamy romance, it didn't stray too far from what I could see happening in real life. The characters and real and relatable, and I love all of the two main character's friends. This book addresses some heavier topics and does so in a way that's light but also purposeful. I loved this book so so much and it made me so happy while reading. This would be great to take on vacation or even read after a breakup to give you a little pick me up that isn't corny or far fetched.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars for me is the epilogue. I prefer for authors to leave us hanging with what it could be, even suspending the possibility of a sequel. Though their ending made sense, I would have just preferred if it was left unsaid. Another reason it didn't get 5 stars was at the end there were about 6 pages dedicated to a dating advice book referenced in the novel. Maybe I'm missing something or it's a joke that didn't land for me, but I was confused about why it was there. It was very cheesy for how amazing and purposeful the book was, and the book referenced wasn't a large part of the plot at all either.

I would consider this a new adult contemporary romance book.
