Finders Keepers by Stephen King
3.0
I can't believe I am saying this, but here is a Stephen King novel that I actually felt was *dun dun dun* TOO SHORT. The plot and character development of Pete and his foil, Morris, were done beautifully. The first half of this book was great! I loved the dual timeline tale, getting to know the players and the crimes, etc.
Then we got to present day and were re-introduced to Bill, Holly, and Jerome. All of whom are characters I like! And I continued to like them in this story. However, the plot got very weak once they were all brought into the story. That was kind of a let down for me. I just wanted a lot more of the mystery solving and detective work, and I just felt like we didn't get nearly as much of that as we did in Mr. Mercedes. Overall, that made this feel a lot less like a Bill Hodges story than I wanted it to be.
That said, I still really enjoyed it. There were some tense parts, some creepy parts, but I just wanted more.
