Fierce Obsessions by Suzanne Wright

4.0

So, let's talk.

I won't hesitate to say Tao was my least favourite enforcer. I didn't hold some kind of strong disliking for him, and I can't fault him for whatever he was doing with Taryn back then, and how he was never accepting of Jaime at first, but I like to believe that's all in the past. Still, I was a tad wary about him before I started reading this one.

Fortunately, Ms. Wright did not disappoint. She made me love Tao, in all his gruff, rough and blunt grace. I realised that he was who he was, and he wanted what he wanted. I got to see him treating Riley the way she should be treated, I noticed him understanding her, loving her and ONLY her, and it was enough for me. He had his reasons for Taryn - well, kind of - and I wanted to strangle Greta when she almost fucked things up. BUT. Gotta love Gretchen the grouch.

Riley is an absolute delight. First diverse shifter in the series so far when it comes to mates, and I really enjoyed the small differences between ravens and wolves that we got to see. Her uncles were the sweetest, and her backstory just as sad, but hey, it happens. We love a tragic backstory.

Again, I love this series. The brotherhood, the tight knitted family, the bonds and connections, the plots, the love, the problems everyone fights against together, it's a dream pack and every other pack just WISHES they could be half as great as the Phoenix Pack.

Not as great as Marcus + Roni, but I've decided that nothing will be. Still, great on its own. Give it a go. 10/10 recommended.

Happy Reading, xo!
