I really struggled with this book.
I found myself really disconnected from the story. I did like that the author depicted a different type of response to the victim than what we typically see in these types of novels. Having said that, I understand what the author was trying to achieve with kind of trying to show a kind of 'idealised' response to this type of situation from the world at large but it just really didn't work for me. I also found parts of the story were not plausible at all.
While I didn't dislike this book, it just didn't quite work for me all of the time.
