I am a regular traveler to Vietnam and each time I visit I read a book that’s set in this beautiful country. The last one I read was The Mountains Sing, which is one of the best books I’ve read in recent months. This was also a fantastic book that is so evocative of the country, its people and culture, and brings to life what the Vietnamese suffered during the years of the American war of aggression as it is rightly known here., as well as shining a light on the experiences of the American conscripts who were equally traumatised by their experiences. I highly recommend this book and rate it 4.5 stars.
