Read about half, couldn't finish. Hadn't intended for this to be a hate-read, even though I do tend to use 'eat pray love' as a punch line; I'm all for motivating folks to harness creativity and was curious what Ms. Gilbert might have to say. What I heard was LOTS about how amazing Ms. Gilbert and her famous friends are, lots about the jumping-from-human-to-human of creative ideas (literally...), lots of rather lofty and privileged advice-giving. The kicker for me was when she went on a little rant about how she did NOT write the book to give advice to anyone, she wrote it for herself, and if you the reader happen to glean something helpful, cool, but if not, well don't blame the author, she wasn't writing it for anyone but herself anyway. Glad she cleared that up: I shut the book right then. A self-reflective book on one's own creative process and musings is not what this is; it's all directed at YOU the reader. Like being trapped as the unwitting audience to another human's monologue-thinly-disguised-as-dialogue, my relief at escaping was great.
