Plague by Michael Grant
3.0

This sci-fi novel by Michael Grant is the 4th book in the Gone series, about a supernatural bubble engulfing Perdido Beach, Claifornia, just as every person age 15 and above disappear into thin air. The children have to cope on their own with only rare, 'freak' powers to help keep them going, as a hidden evil lurks beneath the ground. This particular book is about when disease and sickness finally walk the streets without a cure that takes away the lives of most of those who inhabit it.
I recommend this novel to ages 13+ as it contains much violence and gore.
I really loved this book because it was full of suspense and mystery - my favourite genre - and also because every chapter was in the point of view of a different, unique character. I liked this because over time I got to know each key player in the story and it was interesting to know how each person felt about various situations, each with their own personalities. Although, I had one problem while reading this book. I felt as if the author did not go into enough depth when describing the setting; for example the scenery in the background (which here played a major role) so the reader can create an image in their mind more clearly and easily.
