I’d like to give this 4 stars because the prose was sometimes so magical and just lovely - plus I tried to read Cruel Prince a few years ago and got maybe 15% in and was like “what is this shit?”, so something like this deserves its recognition.
I also just felt like if you’re gonna write about 18 year olds engaging in kinky spicy scenes (but also, like…why?) you should really mature them up elsewhere. I can’t be reading two TEENAGERS argue with each other about how much they want to hate each other, after they’ve already admitted they love each other, and then they get MARRIED and still question motives?
But outside of that, I mostly really enjoyed Juliana’s badassery and Hawthorn’s sassiness.
