The First to Die at the End by Adam Silvera

5.0

This book made me cry so hard.

I think I enjoyed this more than They Both Die at the End, but really I enjoyed both in different ways.

The First to Die at the End felt deeper and I connected with the characters so much more. Their journey was so beautiful and so raw. Hearing Valentino’s struggle with his family accepting him and his faith was so freaking powerful and REAL. I loved every moment.

Reading Orion be this bright wonderful person who also lives with so much fear was so fun and concerning. And I loved reading Dalma make sense of all of this that would eventually result in her future app.

And of course, reading young Mateo and Rufus broke my heart because it was like reading a memory of an old friend you lost. It was so beautiful.

This book also hit me on a more personal level so there’s those feelings as well but I honestly loved it. I don’t know how Adam Silvera can make me laugh and cry, love and hate the story, but I hope he keeps writing.
