Kumo: The Bashful Cloud by Kyo Maclear

fast-paced

3.5

I received a copy of Kumo: The Bashful Cloud by Kyo Maclear and illustrated by Nathalie Dion from Penguin Random House Canada in exchange for an honest review.

Kumo is a shy and bashful cloud who just wants to blend in and float in the skies unseen. But when the other clouds are out of service, Kumo is called to service. Although she runs into some trouble at first, with the help of those around the world, she begins to see all the good and wonderful that comes with being a cloud and being a part of the world. The illustrations in Kumo: The Bashful Cloud are ethereal and perfectly capture the wispy essence of the clouds in the sky. There is a sense of tranquility and serenity in this story that will invite daydreamers and introverts to be part of the world in the ways they please.
