Empire Falls by Richard Russo

This book is a faster read than the pace of the plot would have me expect. With the exception of Janine, all of the major characters were convincingly fleshed out. I felt like they all resembled people I had known but couldn't quite remember. I'm sorry I put off reading this one for so long.
