Devil May Care
by Chani Lynn Feener
I wanna start off by saying, I did still enjoy this book. I just wasn't as engrossed as some of the other ones in the series.
This one definitely felt the oddest out of all. There is a warning in the beginning that Kaz's motivations do not make sense because he doesn't understand them. Regardless, it felt like a lot of emotional whiplash. I thought Kal from Echo seemed hot and cold but Kaz makes him look level headed. Definitely ironic due to their relationship in the books.
I enjoyed Nate though. He took some time to grew on me. I can definitely personally relate to his struggles so I did feel like his struggles with being a burden were well written. Chani really nailed the feeling of spiraling.
I enjoyed Nate's interactions with his siblings. Definitely those were the highlight for me in the book. Even if it was always talking about Kaz.
