This is such a fun series. I love Charlie Thorne-- she's a brave, adventurous genius but also a 12-year old kid which is the perfect combination for chaos and excitement. I love the hijinks she gets into as she hooks up with her CIA contacts again in this search for another lost mystery of science. This one got a bit too much into the

evolution discussion for my tastes, and the sci-fi leaned borderline into science fantasy with Eve

but overall that didn't take away from the adventure and fun. I also enjoyed the critical look at deforestation issues in the Amazon. I look forward to the next book (and book 4 which he is currently working on now!).
