Cute read, quick paced. Finished within a day. I like fast reads like this as palate cleansers. Something I can just read and enjoy and not overwork to understand. This was the perfect selection.
I enjoyed Serafina’s growth, and her commitment to to her country. I thought she was written pretty well and I liked her POV. But Rafe stole the show for me. While not overly complex - the type where you’re wondering what the heck his motivations are the entire time - he’s a bit deeper than one might expect. I thought he was delightful, and securely on the book boyfriend list.
Tropes: fake relationship, unrequited love, best friend crush, royal romance
Content warning: mentions and descriptions of emotional abuse and child abuse. Not graphic, but present.
