This was a solid five star read right up until the epilogue
imo the epilogue flew in the face of everything we knew about Freya in this book. She's constantly telling us about "the stench of battle", how she couldn't understand why she ever thought she wanted to live a life full of war, that violence wasn't for her, how sickened she was by raiding, fighting, that she couldn't bear the idea of either her or Bjorn dying and being seperated etc... all for her to get a quiet life and then suddenly be antsy and long for a life of adventure and battle? Huh?
I seriously think the author was just swayed by booktok's hatred of powerful women losing their powers/having babies/settling down at the end of books. This twist did not make sense for this character, and it ruined the ending for me.
Aside from that, this book was just as solid as book one.
