Adventures in Human Being: A Grand Tour from the Cranium to the Calcaneum by Gavin Francis

4.5

Really enjoyed this tour of the human body. Some fascinating stories and facts, a number of which made me put the book down to properly absorb. A good level of information, left me wanting more detail and knowledge about lots of areas but I think that is probably intentional. Sometimes I struggle to get through non-fiction but this was gripping and the chapters were split up in a way that made it easily consumable. Francis brings so many different ideas together in a way that is compelling - history of medicine (a favorite topic of mine), art, literature - combining factual science and humanity so well.
