I really enjoyed reading this book! The plot and characters were perhaps a little underdeveloped (the romance coalesced fairly quickly and the world building, while interesting, could have borne more complexity; specifically I wished the story had leaned more into the dystopian elements). The prose was quite skilled compared to other romantasy titles I’ve read (read: perfunctory and nice, relative to total dreck). To me the magic bond read a LOT like the ACOTAR mate bond thing. I might suggest this as a readalike for younger/teen audiences.
