"Stand tall in your tiny spot in the universe, space baby, and know that you are doing just fine."
I was really pleasantly surprised by this! I don't usually read self-help books, and really only picked this up because Gemma wrote it, but listening to this felt like a warm hug from an older sister that I desperately needed. She writes in such an accessible way - simple language, creative metaphors, friendly tone - while simultaneously doing some really sharp analyses of scientific questions and confounding news headlines. While some parts of this book felt a little simplistic for where I'm at with my knowledge base, I have to remember that not everyone else knows what I know, and I think that this is an important kind of book for a generation of readers that grew up online - bridging the gap between the therapy speak and mental health conversations we hear on social media platforms with actionable scientific info is so vitally important, and Gemma does it so cleverly, and so relateably.
