Taylor's Master Guide to Gardening by Rita Buchanan

3.0

It's huge, it's thick, it's heavy. The first half is on glossy paper and has lots of photos. The second half is on matte paper and is a plant listing with a few line drawings only. It is not altogether successful. Too much information, but not a handy way to get at what one wants to know. I rarely want to read about a particular plant, nor do I want fluffy advice on using hostas for shade. However, this is such a monster of a book that I shall probably lug it around with me for a few more years yet.
