Thank you to Blue Nose Audio and the author Naomi Loud for the advanced audio copy of A Dance Macabre.
Unfortunately, this one just wasn't for me. I struggled to connect with the characters, and I found myself not really caring what happened to them. The worldbuilding felt underdeveloped, and at times I was genuinely confused, were the main characters supposed to be gods? Or just humans who believed they had divine powers?
That said, it was a true enemies-to-lovers story, and that part was well-executed. I appreciated the tension and dynamic between the leads, but overall the plot and setting didn't hook me the way I hoped it would.
