Great idea, very meh execution. The prose was so flat and uninspired that this never conjured the feeling of the 70s like it promised to. It felt like a more commercial version of Stereophonic on Broadway, which I loved.

I love music and band stories which is what saved this from being two stars for me, but the whole family life thing made it pretty lame. I think there are so many more interesting directions this story could have gone in but it just never took off and got exciting or interesting. It had a few fun moments though.
