Always Mine is the second book in the St. Fleur series by A.J Renee. This is a delightful second chance at love story that also has a touch of drama, suspense, intrigue and romance.
It is part of a series and although it could be read as a standalone, I really recommend that you read book one first- ‘Widower’s Aura. That story will introduce you to the characters, the lovely town St. Fleur in Louisiana and some of the foundations to the series. Book one was a great introduction to what I think is a really wonderful series, and this book certainly didn’t disappoint.
We met Lindsay and Marc in the first book which was Sofia and Noah’s story. Lindsay is Sofia’s best friend and Marc is Noah’s best friend. I loved them from the moment they were introduced as secondary characters in book one, so I am really happy to be finding out so much more about them.
Lindsay Roman is the St. Fleur Librarian. She owns a small cottage that she adores and has an cute dog called Doegee, who is a real scene stealer. There were quite a few moments in the book where Doegee had me smiling at something he had done, or was doing.
Now, this story is made even more interesting with a love triangle aspect to it- as well as some added danger and suspense from the inclusion of a stalker. I enjoyed following the clues that were sprinkled through the story, trying to pinpoint who the stalker was. The author really kept me guessing.
Marc and Derek are the sexy men who are vying for Lindsay’s attention. She is dating Derek, a sweet history teacher- but is extremely attracted to Marc, to the point that she even dreams about him. There is something about him that she can’t quite put her finger on, though.
Marc never expected to be so attracted to someone for the first time since he was a teenager. Just his luck that she already has a man in her life. These two have such a powerful attraction that whenever they are near, the sparks fly. What chance does he really have to make her his, with another man in the picture.
This is a really great story. I noticed that Ms. Renee seems more comfortable and confident with her writing in this book, compared to the first. This is definitely my favourite of the series so far.
The story is well written, flows smoothly and has a great pace. It is told from a duel POV.
I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Thank you Ms. Renee!
