The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
5.0
In 1982, Viv Delaney, the night clerk at the Sun Down Motel vanished without a trace. It took four days for anyone to report her missing and her disappearance was never solved. In 2017, her niece Carly decides to get to the bottom of Viv’s disappearance and finds herself in eerily similar circumstances, investigating the same unsolved murders, working the same night shift, and hearing the same strange noises. Not much has changed in the town of Fell and nothing has changed at the Sun Down Motel. There’s more to the motel than meets the eye and Carly starts to believe that she might be in danger herself.

I couldn’t put it down (seriously, I read the whole thing in one day). I had shivers down my spine the whole time and had to position myself so I could see my whole room while I was reading because I kept feeling like someone was watching me. This book was creepy, mysterious, and unputdownable. I love interwoven timelines and watching Carly follow in her aunt’s footsteps made for a compelling read. I was thoroughly creeped out but loved every minute of it. This book made me want to go exploring at an abandoned motel (sort of) and definitely made me want to check out what else [a:Simone St. James|4981568|Simone St. James|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1541540226p2/4981568.jpg] has written. Highly recommend this book to any true crime junkies and thriller fans out there.
