This book has got to be one of my top favorite books of all time. The pure whimsy and freedom and poetry of Laini Taylor’s writing and stories left me feeling like I just found something incredible and necessary in my life that I never knew before. I was skeptical in reading a story with a man as a main character tbh, but Lazlo Strange was clearly written by a woman and a talented one at that. I found myself relating to him in a way that I can’t do with most male characters. Not to mention to mention all of the wonderful, three dimensionally written female characters that make up the cast as well. I have been reading a lot of fantasy novels lately, but none have them felt like a fairytale quite like this one. Truly a modern day Grimms fairytale. I’m still reeling from it all. PLEASE READ IT.
