Purls and Potions by Nancy Warren
2.75
funny lighthearted mysterious fast-paced

Pros:

This was kind of like a wacky episode of Sabrina the teenage witch.  Love potions gone wrong, Shakespeare plays and college kids.  This could be a fun read for fans of the show and suits the Valentine season quiet well.

Cons:

While I understand the witch world being new to the main character it is a little frustrating that many of her issues stem from giving in to what other people want.  While that worked out well in taking over the shop, every time she interacts with the coven leader something bad happens.  She isn’t stupid or weak so I find it baffling that she continues to cave in and endanger herself and others.

This time the main character overstepped in the investigation and trying to stop the murderer, something up to this point I had been pleased to see the author avoid.  While not as bad as some cozy mysteries it could frustrate some readers.
