I absolutely loved the way the author weaved in so much cultural lore and superstition into this story and used it as an effective plot element. The old Malaya setting and its rich history was so fascinating that I loved it more than the story itself. Not to say the story was bad, I found the characters easy to root for and the mystery engaging. I just think that not all of the plot lines were effectively resolved (everything with Yi??) and the ending was rushed. There were several clever twists that were properly set up so each piece of the mystery made sense, I just think the author faltered in execution. I had fun with this though!
