Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

This book was amazing. I wasn't sure I would like Eloracan, but I really enjoyed it. Elide was very cool, especially when she could act and lie her way through sticky situations. I very much enjoyed Lysandra's scenes, like the scenes when Lysandra is with Aelin (or is Aelin) and when she is with Aedion, helping him with the "meeting", or when she needed help shifting back on the beach. The ending destroyed me. I'm not sure I will ever recover from that. I just know that I can't wait for TOG6! Manon was amazing, and her big reveal shocked me! I love her character, and I am excited to see where she goes. Dorian was okay, he wasn't my favorite, but I still like him. I especially liked when Rowan rescued him and they went to meet Rolfe. As for the new "Cadre" we get to meet, I thought it was fun. Fenrys is pretty cool, and it was nice to get to know Gavriel more. Learning more about Lorcan was also important to the story, I think. His nicknames for Terrasen's court were funny! I hope we get to meet the other cadre in the next one, explore their backstories a bit, get to know them. Honestly, I just hope Fenrys and his brother try to help Aelin as much as they can. The short atory in the back of the target edition was amazing. (SPOILERS) It described the events that happened in Heir of Fire, when Aelin met Rowans clingy ex-lover. The Barnes & Noble edition had a story about Aelin's court on their journey to Terrasen, when they went to town to get more supplies. I don;t have the UK short story, but I read it online, and it is about Chaol and Nesryn, on their journey to the southern continents. I'll be honest here, I'm glad Chaol and Nesryn weren't in this book. I think Chaol is kinda whiny, and feel like Nesryn is there just as a love interest/extra friend. I am interested to see what happens to them in the novella, though.[b:Empire of Storms|28260587|Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)|Sarah J.
