My adolescence was lived through the start of MTV so this book looked like a dream come true. Not so much. Oy Vey with the misogyny already. Every woman in the book is described as crazy, moody, in relation to the likelihood someone wanted to sleep with them. There is an entire chapter about Martha Quinn and Nikki and all the terrible and perky things people said about them. If you can get past the 80's culture of homophobia and misogyny, then you can go on to enjoy the fact that this book has no clear direction. One minute they are going through a large number of interviews with bands and then next they are talking about executives at the station and then suddenly on to a different topic. Ultimately, there was a lot of information that went in to the book, but no organization of how it went it. Oh, and note to the author: woman have more value than as a sex object or scape goat.
