I wanted to like this book and found so many passages beautiful, but it was a hard exercise to get through the book. I knew if I skipped a chapter, especially toward the end, it wouldn’t necessarily affect my understanding of the book.

Love the interpretation of Marie de France and lesbian nuns (here for it) but wish it had an easier flow and better distinction of the characters. What nun did what? It was hard to remember.

Anyway good on Marie for making a sapphic women's paradise.
