“A rose is a rose, even by another name,” he whispered. “But we choose whether we will offer beauty to the world, or if we will use our thorns to sting.”
They could choose. Love or blood. Hope or hate.

I loved this.

Whoever said this is just an R&J retelling, they're doing this wonderful duology a terrible disservice because it's so much more than that.

Our Violent Ends, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 debut—These Violent Delights—picks up three months after the end of the previous book.

Juliette sacrifices her relationship with Roma, to keep her cousin, Tyler Cai, in his place. Meanwhile, still not over his best friend's death, Benedikt shuts himself away from the world, while Roma takes off on a very ruthless killing spree, shooting the blood feud to its peak.

The angst is so good and perfectly delivered. You could literally hear me screeching through the screen because that torture. And all that tension definitely was worth in the end.

I wouldn't want to spoil, but I really loved how Chloe Gong handled all the characters—major or minor. They all got a very fitting end, save for some certain characters who have some loose ends that are to be tied up in a hinted spin-off.
