Frontier Grit: The Unlikely True Stories of Daring Pioneer Women by Marianne Monson

5.0

Review of “Frontier Grit” written by Marianne Monson and narrated by Caroline Shaffer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book doesn’t just tell stories; it slams you right into the guts of the American frontier alongside some seriously kickass women. I stumbled upon the audio version on Audible and oh boy, am I glad I listened.

Monson doesn’t hold back. She dives deep into history to uncover the tales of these overlooked heroines who faced down everything the wild west could throw at them. From wrangling cattle to standing up against injustice, these women did it all with grit, guts, and a lot of heart.

The first real chapter of this book about Nellie Cashman was the best story to get you invested in what this book has to tell. Because let me tell you right now, the minute I finished this book, I started searching for other books about these women. Oh, and did I mention Donaldina Cameron!!

Reading this book, I felt like I was on a wild ride through history, cheering on these badass women every step of the way. It’s not just a history lesson; it’s a shot of inspiration straight to the soul.

“Frontier Grit” isn’t just a five-star read; it’s a frontier-sized, all-out, no-holds-barred adventure that’ll leave you fist-pumping and cheering for more. Trust me, you need this book on your shelf ASAP.
