To continue my post-apocalyptic YA period, I wanted to try this book which was in my TBR for ages and which had caught my eye with this tarot card incarnate in human story =D It was a nice surprise despite some flaws ...
First of all, I LOVED the story and the universe that is super original : tarot cards that are reincarnated century after century into teenagers for a kind of game like in the Highlander's series (Macleod and Methos <3) in a world that has fall into chaos =D The style is great with action, humor and I liked the idea of story into another story ><
I LOVE the Cajun (who is SO sexy but mostly I love when he talks with his Cajun pfiouloulou voice, I sooo need to buy the audiobook to hear his voice ><) and I really enjoyed meeting the other cards ... And I'm sooo looking forward to meet the Death who simply fascinated me =D
The big flaw of this book is the heroine Evie : she's such a moron !! She is very childish and she has not an ounce of survival instinct in her !! After Penryn from Angelfall series, I was very disappointing ... She becomes much more interesting when she is fully in Empress mode =)
In short, I don't like the heroine but I like the story and it's pretty addictive =)
