Taste: My Life Through Food by Stanley Tucci

4.0

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy on CNN and figured this would be just as entertaining...I wasn't wrong. I listened to the audio, read by the author but it would be valuable to have the book as well if only for the recipes! He provides recipes for some of his favourite food items and a martini, his preferred beverage of choice. I'd say this book is not for the faint of heart because preparations of some meat (homegrown livestock) is just a bit gross even for the biggest carnivore. My only complaint is some bits are monotonous such as dialogue where he points out who is speaking ie. me...blah blah blah, my mother...blah blah blah. It goes on a bit long, probably more monotonous because it was audio and might work better if it's read, that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. When you get the opportunity look up "timballo/timpano/timbale" all versions of a VERY labour intensive dish.
A very enjoyable read/listen, especially if you like food.
