We Should All Be Feminists
by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
informative
inspiring
relaxing
fast-paced
This is a transcript of the author’s ted-talk, so I also watched the video too. I was really moved by the stories she told, about her experiences growing up in Nigeria and what she faced as a woman. This feels like a rallying cry to everyone, everywhere to be feminist.
I really enjoyed it when she talked about feminism would break boys out of their toxic masculinity. Also showing the degrees of respect women face like in Nigeria how people assume that the men always pay, even when it's the women handing them money to America where women are too scared to speak up in meetings out of fear of being too “bossy.” It shows that all over the world, equality is needed.
I’ll definitely check out her other books sometime!
